Ranch dogs, and pugs in particular have to be pretty tough. Our dogs were wonderful companions with exciting lives and qually dramatic deaths, particularly the pugs.

Pug Family History: Her dogs
In the latter 60s and before my biking days, I walked the two miles from Highlands Elementary in any remotely genial weather and always encountered two pugs. That was it, I'd found the dog of my adulthood. There have been 7 pugs in our extended family, 5 in the Adams', Rosa is still living and thus not pictured.




The pugs as muse studies came earlier for family. Good company...Valentino, Hogarth, Otto Bache...



The Hunter Canine Family History: His dogs

The hunting dogs are all gifts from Kansas men to my husband, and to me really. Our relationship: they are the trainer and companion for long-distance running. Perhaps a little counterproductive for good bird dogs, but no better partners in meditation.
